Because it is when the Stonewall Riots took place, way back in 1969.
 Windrush Day – Tuesday 22 June 2021
The day honours the British Caribbean community, and the half a million people who travelled to the UK after the Second World War. The first Windrush Day was held on June 22 2018. More people than ever before are taking part this year to support the Windrush Generation, and show sympathy with the hardships they have endured.
Nelson Mandela Day – Sunday 18 July 2021
Mandela Day was created to inspire people to embrace the values of democracy and contribute towards the ideals of ensuring a just and fair society. President Jacob Zuma first introduced the concept of Nelson Mandela Day in 2009, to motivate a nationwide campaign to get the public involved in charitable activities.
